Black and Tan / Blue and Tan Boerboels....

Black and tan Boerboels are not officially recognized by major breed organizations. The American Kennel Club (AKC) does not accept them, as their coloring falls outside the breed standard, which includes fawn, cream, red, brown, reddish brown, and brindle. Similarly, both the Kennel Union of South Africa (KUSA) and the South African Boerboel Breeders' Society (SABBS) do not recognize black and tan or blue and tan Boerboels as standard. Despite this, supporters of black and tan and the blue and tan Boerboels argue that these dogs share the same loyal, protective, and intelligent traits that make the Boerboel breed so desirable. While they may not meet official breed standards, black and tan Boerboels are still valued by many for their temperament and striking appearance.
